About Roxborough State Park Butterfly Monitoring Program

With special permission from the Colorado State Park system, this program seeks to document butterfly populations in the diverse habitats of Colorado’s Roxbrough State Park in Douglas County. Using a modified Pollard approach, a consistent 7.5 km path is walked at least eleven times during the butterfly season months of May through August. Surveys were initially conducted in the late 1990s and then re-started in 2018.

PollardBase is an online system for managing butterfly monitoring programs.
